Hoy he paseado con Rosa y su marido por el Retiro. La forma tan pragmática y sensata en que ella está lidiando con un tumor cerebral me parece ejemplar. Todo rezongue egoísta palidece ante situaciones tan conmovedoras como esta. Me da la sensación de que nos hace falta darnos de cara con ellas para contemplar las cosas con cierta distancia.

Back after a while.
Today I walked about El Retiro with R. and her husband. The no-nonsense, down-to-earth manner in which she's dealing with her brain tumor should make you pause. All selfish whingeing pales in the face of poignant situations such as this. Apparently, we seem to need to be confronted with them to gain some perspective on things.
Then we go back to our self-centred whingeing.
